Work Experience

Applied Industry Week

Community & Education

G Live does not run a general work experience programme in the usual sense; we are not responsive to set work experience weeks during school terms. Instead, we run an applied industry week for young people between 14 - 19 years olds in July each year.

Applied Industry Week was meant to be running Mon 6 - Fri 10 July 2020!

Applied Industry Week 2020 is no longer taking place

Details for 2021 will be posted in here late 2020.

Applications typically open from early December with the deadline of the end of January.

About Applied Industry Week

During this week, a team of selected young people will form a model company to approach a creative production set by the G Live Team, each taking on a company role and mentored by G Live staff. This will include Technical and Production Team, Marketing Department and Administration, overseen by the Creative Learning Manager, Fiona Moon and Community Arts Assitant, Natalie Watson.

During the week, the company will come up with a company name and identity, assign roles, make design decisions and create materials, devise some rehearsed scenes/ pieces of music from the selected show, which will be presented to G Live’s industry professionals, teachers and family members on day five. Potential roles include, but are not limited to:

  • Director
  • Production Designer
  • Stage Manager
  • Performers (including actors, musicians, dancers or any other artform)
  • Producer
  • Marketing
  • Technical Manager

We are happy to take applications from any young person who has a genuine interest in working in the arts, including visual arts, music and theatre. G Live is a fully accessible building.
