We have a large number of casual staff and volunteers from our local universities, colleges and education providers. Opportunities for Work Experience

While we do not accept individual work experience placements, we have developed an exceptional Applied Industry Week programme, which takes place in July each year. We offer a number of young people aged 14 – 19 the opportunity to spend a week with us, taking on roles within the venue and learning what a career within arts, leisure and hospitality can offer. 

Types of Roles

Hospitality

G Live's Hospitality team operate at the highest standard to develop and deliver innovative dining, drinking and conference facilities. With a flash of theatrical flair, we have a team of talented chefs and service staff for staff members of all levels of experience and skillsets.   

Technical

Our Technical team are an outstanding and highly skilled team who make sure our theatrical and events productions are delivered to the highest standard. From assisting with show get-in and set-up, to managing production sound, lighting and technical delivery, this team of heroes make sure the show will always go on!

Marketing & Sales

The Marketing and Sales department ensure all communications, promotional campaigns and publicity materials are delivered to the highest industry standards. Working across digital and traditional marketing channels it is their job to make sure that both new and existing audiences find out about the exceptional programme of events and activities available at G Live. Also good at colouring in. 

Administration and Management

Our award-winning team of Administrative, Finance and Management teams work together to ensure that the highly complex business runs smoothly, delivering the highest levels of service to promoters and clients. 

Current Vacancies

Assistant Marketing Manager

Salary: £27,000 per annum
Employment Type: Permanent

A key position within G Live's Marketing and Sales team, the Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for managing relationships with external promoters and suppliers; and the development, delivery and analysis of integrated marketing campaigns for shows, hospitality events, creative learning initiatives and our associated products and services. 

Operating across the full mix, but with a particular focus on content-based marketing, you will create high impact campaigns, deliver audience development initiatives and play a vital part in the development, administration and continued success of G Live's marketing strategy. You will be a confident communicator, with experience of working in a fast-paced marketing role, ideally in the Arts or wider cultural sector. You will be creative, have a good eye for detail and demonstrate a clear understanding of digital marketing best practice. Venue Manager

Salary: £24,000 per annum
Employment Type: Permanent

This is a hands on, operational role. The post holder will be expected to run and manage a team for the whole range of events and activities held at G Live including shows, conferences and private events.

They will ensure the highest quality in service to meet the great range of requirements of our many clients and visiting companies. They will act as Duty Manager for shows and events utilising a skilled team, with particular emphasis on motivating them to deliver exceptional customer service in a challenging and pressured environment. Our ideal candidate is a hardworking, organized and dedicated professional with customer care at the heart of everything they do.

By its nature, the position will involve evening and weekend shifts, and some Bank Holiday cover. The successful applicant will be required to comply with our Data & Barring Service (DBS) Check procedures.

Sales and Customer Engagement Manager

Salary: £27,000 per annum 
Employment Type: Permanent
Hours: 40-hours pcw
(including some evenings & weekends)

The Sales and Customer Engagement Manager is responsible for managing G Live's in-venue ticketing services in support of HQ Theatres' central ticketing operations and customer contact centre teams. With a focus on exemplary customer service, the successful candidate will provide on-site ticketing support for customers and visiting companies, managing a small team of permanent and casual sales staff. 

You will also be adept at using audience data to lead on developing, delivering and administrating venue loyalty and retention programmes, advance communications with key audience groups and contribute to the achievement of key organisational and service targets.

Freelance Assistant Drama Practitioner for SEN Classes

Salary: £700 per 10 week term
Employment Type: Freelance
Hours: Saturdays, Term Time Only, 10:00 – 11:15 (Juniors) 11:30 – 13:00 (Seniors). Additional preparation time expected

To assist the Lead Drama Practitioner to run two weekly drama sessions (Juniors 7- 11 years, seniors 12-17 years) focusing on confidence building, teamwork and self esteem, and to help the Lead Drama Practitioner coordinate termly showbacks with the support of the Creative Learning Manager. The successful applicant will be required to comply with our Data & Barring Service (DBS) Check procedures.

Meet The Team

We’re committed to training and developing our staff, preparing them for their next step in whichever direction that might be. Here’s the proof.

 

Connor Harper - Senior Venue Manager

Connor started his career with HQ Theatres in 2012 as a Hospitality Assistant at the Beck Theatre, Hayes, working on a casual basis during his studies. In 2018, he applied for the role of Assistant Hospitality Manager where he got his first taste at managing teams, and a department.

In December 2020, G Live put out a plea to it’s sister venues for some help over the busy Christmas period, in a time of lots of staffing changes. Connor made the journey from the mean streets of West London to help out over Christmas, when a maternity cover opportunity came up, leading to him covering as Events Manager in the new year. Connor managed to work in this role for all of 2 months before the government lockdown struck, and he was summoned to remain in West London for 16 months.

Over lockdown, G Live significantly changed it’s internal Front of House and Hospitality structure, leading to the creation of a new role, Senior Venue Manager. Connor and his team now lead the FOH operation, Hospitality Events, Stage Door team, and our most valued Volunteers.
