Opportunities for Work Experience
While we do not accept individual work experience placements, we have developed an exceptional Applied Industry Week programme, which takes place in July each year. We offer a number of young people aged 14 – 19 the opportunity to spend a week with us, taking on roles within the venue and learning what a career within arts, leisure and hospitality can offer.
Types of Roles
G Live's Hospitality team operate at the highest standard to develop and deliver innovative dining, drinking and conference facilities. With a flash of theatrical flair, we have a team of talented chefs and service staff for staff members of all levels of experience and skillsets.
Often the first point-of-contact for audiences to engage with the venue, our wonderful Ticketing team provide outstanding customer service while proactively selling tickets and associated products and services. Regularly commended both at venue-level and across the HQ Theatres group, this customer-facing role offers a fun, flexible and essential service.
Our Technical team are an outstanding and highly skilled team who make sure our theatrical and events productions are delivered to the highest standard. From assisting with show get-in and set-up, to managing production sound, lighting and technical delivery, this team of heroes make sure the show will always go on!
The Marketing department ensure all communications, promotional campaigns and publicity materials are delivered to the highest industry standards. Working across digital and traditional marketing channels it is their job to make sure that both new and existing audiences find out about the exceptional programme of events and activities available at G Live. Also good at colouring in.
Administration and Management
Our award-winning team of Administrative, Finance and Management teams work together to ensure that the highly complex business runs smoothly, delivering the highest levels of service to promoters and clients.
Guest Experience Team Member
We are currently recruiting for Guest Experience Staff. Successful applicants will work alongside the G Live Volunteer and Hospitality teams to ensure the success and smooth running of front of house areas.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided. To comply with licensing laws applicants must be over 18.

Alison Flynn - Stage Door Administrator
"I started out as a casual member of staff with the Stage Door team. After several months working increasing numbers of hours and taking on more responsibility for the administrative duties undertaken by Stage Door, it was decided that it would be a good idea to have another permanent member of staff in the team. I was therefore invited to apply for a permanent contract which, I’m pleased to say, I was successful in obtaining."
Amanda Hamilton - Volunteer Co-Ordinator
"I came to G Live when it opened with the intention of becoming a volunteer and thanks to my varied hospitality and customer service background, gained through working in the Cruise industry and also at the Royal Festival Hall / South Bank Centre, I found myself being employed as Volunteer Co-Ordinator.
I combine this flexible and varied part time position with other interests and raising a family. G Live is a fast paced and exciting place to be involved, and the volunteers here play an important role in welcoming our patrons to the venue and making sure they have a fantastic customer experience. With around 130 volunteers at G Live, coming from different walks of life and bringing with them a wealth of experience, there is always plenty to keep me busy. I try to ensure everyone is kept up to date, match volunteer availability with performances, sign Duke of Edinburgh paperwork, write references and give support to volunteers looking for a first paid role or a return to the workplace.
As Volunteer Co-Ordinator I also represent the team at the venue’s weekly operations meetings and monthly Health and Safety meetings and make sure the volunteer team are fully briefed and compliant with operating procedures and health and safety requirements. "
