Masterclass: Submitting Your Work to An Agent
G Live, Guildford
Sat 8 June 2019
Literary agents have long been the gatekeepers to the world of traditional publishing. Despite recent changes to the industry, this is still largely the case. If you’re writing a novel and would like to get an agent, or have tried unsuccessfully to get one, this practical workshop will help improve your approach.
It will cover:
Bring: the opening paragraph of your novel; and any rejection letters from agents that you have already received.
Beth Miller is the author of three novels: The Two Hearts of Eliza Bloom (2019), The Good Neighbour (2015) and When We Were Sisters (2014). She has also published two non-fiction books: For the Love of Shakespeare (2016) and For The Love of The Archers (2015). Her next novel will be published in Autumn 2019.
She teaches on the Creative Writing Programme in Brighton, and is a guest tutor on the MA at Brighton University. She will be a tutor for Arvon later this year. She’s a writing mentor and book coach, and offers one-to-one advice on submissions to agents.
