Our Applied Industry Week takes place in July each year. We offer a number of young people aged 14 – 19 the opportunity to spend a week with us, taking on roles within the venue.
Types of Roles
Providing an innovative dining, drinking and conference facilities with theatrical flair requires a range of talented chefs and friendly servers over a range of levels and employment types.
The approachable Ticket Office team provide excellent customer service while proactively selling tickets in this customer-facing role offering fun and flexibility.
Often the hidden function of a theatre, these heroes make the show happen from assisting with the ‘get-in’ to managing the sound and lighting.
The marketing and promotions teams ensure our customers know about the broad-range of incredible events within the venues' many spaces in this busy but exciting department.
Administration and Management
Off the stage a gifted group of administrators, finance and management teams ensure the venues run smoothly.

20 hours per week
You will be responsible for the delivery, scheduling and distribution of print and promotional materials around the venue, as well as in the local area.

We are looking to appoint a multi-skilled Technician to ensure a smooth running, efficient and safe working environment for all staff and visiting companies, to assist with building maintenance and to strive to offer the best possible service to all users of G Live. As a member of the Casual Technical Team, the post holder will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of, setting up and a variety of operational duties in respect of the diverse range of productions and events staged by professional and amateur companies, as directed by the Technical Manager.
Casual Café/ Mezzanine Staff
We are currently recruiting for casual Café/ Mezzanine staff. Successful applicants will work alongside the G Live volunteer team to ensure the success and contribute to the smooth running of our Café & restaurant areas and events. Staff will be able to work a variety of shifts and must be flexible in their working patterns, have good customer service skills and a sense of humour. Previous experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided. To comply with licensing laws applicants must be over 18.

Alison Flynn - Stage Door Administrator
"I started out as a casual member of staff with the Stage Door team. After several months working increasing numbers of hours and taking on more responsibility for the administrative duties undertaken by Stage Door, it was decided that it would be a good idea to have another permanent member of staff in the team. I was therefore invited to apply for a permanent contract which, I’m pleased to say, I was successful in obtaining."
Amanda Hamilton - Volunteer Co-Ordinator
"I came to G Live when it opened with the intention of becoming a volunteer and thanks to my varied hospitality and customer service background, gained through working in the Cruise industry and also at the Royal Festival Hall / South Bank Centre, I found myself being employed as Volunteer Co-Ordinator.
I combine this flexible and varied part time position with other interests and raising a family. G Live is a fast paced and exciting place to be involved, and the volunteers here play an important role in welcoming our patrons to the venue and making sure they have a fantastic customer experience. With around 130 volunteers at G Live, coming from different walks of life and bringing with them a wealth of experience, there is always plenty to keep me busy. I try to ensure everyone is kept up to date, match volunteer availability with performances, sign Duke of Edinburgh paperwork, write references and give support to volunteers looking for a first paid role or a return to the workplace.
As Volunteer Co-Ordinator I also represent the team at the venue’s weekly operations meetings and monthly Health and Safety meetings and make sure the volunteer team are fully briefed and compliant with operating procedures and health and safety requirements. "
