Conductor Nikolaj Znaider
Mozart Piano Concerto No. 25
One of the highlights of the inaugural season was the opening concert with the London Symphony Orchestra. Recently voted as one of the top five symphony orchestras in the world, they were so impressed by the G Live acoustic that they’ve asked to return. On this occasion they will be conducted by the brilliant young Danish conductor and violinist Nikolaj Znaider and will be joined by the outstanding pianist Piotr Anderszewski, who will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25, regarded by pianists as the composer’s most technically demanding concerto. This will be followed by Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, a vast musical canvas with its tremendous climaxes and much loved Adagietto, which was used for the film Death in Venice. Mahler’s 5th Symphony is perhaps regarded as one of his greatest compositions and this is a wonderful opportunity to hear this work in Guildford.
